What's the helpful differentiating test? ( Here is the answer )

Both Primary Biliary Cirrhosis and Chronic Active Hepatitis (of whatever etiology) can be very closely similar so that clinical, serological (both my show anti-mtochondrial antibodies), and histological features are indistinguishable.

Can you suggest a very helpful differentiating tool?

Answer:

Primary Biliary Cirrhosis can be differentiated from Chronic Active Hepatitis by the presence of hepatic copper deposition.
A liver biopsy specimen can be detected by using a special copper staining ( eg rhodamine stain).
